Introduction-July 25, 2023

 Hello Everyone,

I'm new to blogging and vlogging and although I have years and years, (too many to note) of background in various industries I have never really considered documenting any of my efforts for others.

Those of you who are of an older vintage and  have worked in the trade industries will understand. We for the most part were never afforded the time or opportunity to document our work and discuss it with the general public. Seemingly always being "on the clock" and a slave to capitalism kept a great many of our behind the scenes contributions to the beauty of life and living, away from the public eye...But the internet has changed all of that, hasn't it?

Without getting too deep into my background and life's meanderings, I've decided to try to slowly integrate a bit of technology into my life and try my hand a blogging and vlogging. I'm doing it mostly as an experiment for myself and as potential learning tool for others.

So, I'm going to try a series of blogs with the moniker "Will Try-...". The first one being this one Will Try-Boat Building, where I plan on building a 24'-26' shallow draft, camper-cruiser sailboat, within which I can travel and explore the watery bi-ways of our beautiful country.

This isn't my first boat-build. However, it is my first attempt at a boat-build such as this one. Over the years I have collected and curated several hundred small and not so small craft designs, some I've purchased but many I've found for free on the Internet.

In my lifetime I've been a sailor, a sailing instructor, a boat builder, a mechanic, a designer, a construction worker, a teacher and for a time a scientist...

But there has always been one central theme... A golden-thread woven in and out of the fabric of my life that I wish to investigate, explore and share. That little thread however, is deeply rooted in a few different aspects of my being, and upon careful and deliberate consideration I've come to the conclusion that they are these, and all of my life's fabric have actually formed around them, like an ever changing topography around the roots of a tree.

1- A strong sense of self and independence.

2- A deeply rooted love, respect and a will to          do, see and experience nature and the

    world.

3- An extreme aversion to authority and to            those who say "You can't do that!"...Freedom      of mind, body and spirit has always reigned      supreme.

4- A desire to build and to create.

5- A need for levity in order to be happy and a      Mantra that's says "If you don't start                    anything, there won't be anything."

However, that particular Mantra does extend in both positive and negative directions. So I endeavor to keep it positive.

As with all good things they take time. I have spent the past five years traveling and living abroad and it has given me a newly acquired sense of admiration, respect and belonging for/to America. Once a person has worked, lived and traveled in as many countries as I have. There truly is no-place like home.

So please stay with me as I embark upon what will hopefully be an educational and revealing journey, as I try to rebuild a life of harmony with my surroundings, my country and my neighbors.

I hope you enjoy it.

Best Wishes,

Will Try-
